Music In Our School's Month 2026 Reflection

Music in Our Schools Month was nothing short of a joyful celebration, and I am still smiling as I reflect on how beautifully everything came together. From the very first note to the final performance, my heart was full watching my students shine with confidence, enthusiasm, and pure love for music.

Our Kindergarten students absolutely melted hearts as they sang “Music Has a Steady Beat.” Their bright smiles, tiny voices, and natural sense of rhythm reminded everyone in the room that music begins with joy. It was such a sweet and memorable moment.

First grade followed with “One Small Voice,” and what a powerful message they delivered. Their performance was a beautiful reminder that even the smallest voices can make a big impact. I was so proud of how they expressed both the meaning and emotion of the song.

Second grade brought energy and musicality with “Do Re Mi.” They demonstrated growing confidence and a clear understanding of pitch and melody. Watching them connect the notes to their voices was incredibly rewarding as a teacher.

Our third graders truly inspired the audience with their boomwhacker performance of “I’m Still Standing” and “Who Let the Dogs Out.” Their coordination, focus, and teamwork were on full display. It was exciting to see them bring instruments to life in such a fun and engaging way.

Finally, our fourth and fifth graders closed the celebration with “Che Che Koolay.” Their performance was vibrant, rhythmic, and full of cultural expression. They embraced the music with confidence and joy, creating an atmosphere that had everyone engaged and smiling.

This celebration was a beautiful reminder of why music education matters. It builds confidence, encourages creativity, and brings people together. I am incredibly proud of each and every student for their hard work and dedication. Music truly lives within them, and it was an honor to witness their growth and share their gifts with others.
